Connaissez vous cette chanson "Johan et Elliott" interprétée par un chanteur français qui se pseudonyme "Jessepop" ?
Cette chanson est en fait un hommage à Johan Asherton et à Elliott et sur un petit air de "Last of the Rock Stars" elle revisite une partie du répertoire de nos deux artistes ....
Pour ma part j'ai découvert cette chanson sur une compil toute récente : "Compilation vs Cancer 2009" sortie par La Ligue contre le Cancer de Bordeaux et je pense que cette compil peut en intéresser plus d'un.....
Grâce à Franck et à Jean-Charles (Jessepop) j'ai pu avoir des éléments intéressants sur l'histoire de cette chanson :
Ce titre a été composé en 1982 en faisant suite à la sortie des 2 mini-Lps "Affairs" d'Elliott et "Heydays are Gone" de Jérôme Soligny
Le titre original était " A song for Jérôme et Elliott "
Jesse voulait poursuivre la tradition des
"Song for Woody" de Bob Dylan
"Song for Bob Dylan" de David Bowie
"A Song for Ziggy" de Jérôme Soligny
Et puis la rencontre avec Johan vers la fin des années 80, les évolutions musicales de Jérôme Soligny ont amené Jesse à changer un peu le texte et.... le titre
C'est aujourd'hui la chanson fétiche de Jesse !
Jesse a été membre de notre liste (Elliott Murphy Fan-Club) vers 2003-2004, il publiait aussi un fanzine "Psychotic Reaction"...
Franck l'a rencontré en 2003 lors du concert d'Elliott, Olivier et Danny au Bourbon Street Club Blues de Bordeaux
A cette époque la chanson n'a été sortie que sur un Cdr 2 titres ( le deuxième s'appelant " You're Welcome" ) et le tirage s'est fait à 3 exemplaires !!!

Originally written in 1981 in the wake of the release of two wonderful albums called "Affairs" by Elliott Murphy and "Heydays are Gone" by French pop singer Jérôme Soligny, the first track is a vibrant homage to both artists who have always had a kind of 'poète maudit' aura around their persona and music.
'You're Welcome' is a brittle, enchanting pop song.
